Prairie Falcon

"Prairie Falcon" tactical knife, obverse side in 440C high chromium stainless steel blade, 304 stainless steel bolsters, Crazy Lace Agate gemstone handle, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake over laced leather sheath
"Prairie Falcon"

The Prairie Falcon is a common and beautiful Raptor here in the southwest, and this pattern of knife is a very early one of mine, named for the graceful and elegant creature. The blade design is narrow and feather-like, with a slight recurve and a nice top half-length swage. I made the blade of 440C high chromium martensitic stainless steel for great durability, high wear resistance, and low care in a mirror polish. This knife has full filework from swage to choil, and a fully tapered tang. The knife is bolstered with zero-care 304 high nickel, high chromium austenitic stainless steel bolsters, which are dovetailed to bed a pair of striking Crazy Lace Agate gemstone handle scales. This agate is very hard and tough, with fascinating areas of pattern and crystal throughout. The handle shape is very comfortable in the hand and the balance of the knife is excellent. The knife is sheathed in a 9-10 oz. leather shoulder sheath, hand-laced, with an overlay of Western Diamondback Rattlesnake skin.

A great tactical knife design fine enough for a collection.
