- Knife: Another fine collaborative knife by
James Beauchamp and Jay Fisher, the Bulldog is a tough tactical
grade knife. The deeply hollow ground blade is low care 440C high
chromium martensitic tool steel for great wear characteristics and
extreme corrosion resistance. The blade has a very aggressive point
and a half-length top swage to reduce point thickness without
sacrificing spine strength. The thick blade has a full tang: one
solid piece of steel from point to finger ring. The bolsters are tough 304
high chromium, high nickel austenitic stainless steel for the
greatest longevity and zero care. 304 is the same steel used in 18-8
stainless steel bolts, nuts, and industrial fasteners. The bolsters
bed a pair of pinned and dovetailed G10 fiberglass epoxy laminate
manmade handle scales. This very tough, hard, and durable material
is industrially manufactured for high compression resistance,
toughness, and chemical resistance. A unique feature of the Bulldog
knife is the rear finger ring. The ring aids in extracting the knife
from the sheath to be held in reverse grip style. The 1" diameter
ring is contoured and smoothed for easy and comfortable use. This is
a very durable, aggressive, and field-proven knife.
- Sheath: The sheath for this knife is one of
James' and Jay's
positively locking military tactical combat models, made of double
thickness kydex, 5052H32 corrosion resistant high strength aluminum,
304, 302, and 316 stainless steel locking mechanism and components,
bound with nickel plated steel Chicago screws and 18-8 stainless
machine screws. The belt loops are reversible for a variety of wear
positions.
- Another fine collaborative knife for a great client!
Thanks, H. B.!
Guys, the knife and sheath are everything I anticipated and then some!
The amazing grip, symmetry, balance and smooth lines complete the quality
of the detailed materials that you were able to use in creating this knife.
That sheath is unreal; I repeatedly said to my wife that I haven’t seen
anything like it. The mechanism is so smooth! Thank you for letting me own
a piece of your art and craftsmanship. Maybe after a few, ok a lot, of gift
giving occasions transpire I can suggest another knife with a gemstone handle?
THANKS!
H.
