  • Knife: Bootes is named for a major star in the cosmos, and a graceful design, cleanly made and nicely embellished. The first thing you notice when you pick it up is its weight. This is a thick, solid knife and very well balanced. The blade is hollow ground from 3/16" 440C high chromium martensitic tool steel that has been milled in decorative fashion, with full filework around all the milling, as well as fine filework along the fully tapered tang, from blade tip to choil and even in the milled lanyard slot. The filework is graduated, and is balanced to the tang thickness. The deeply hollow ground blade is mirror polished and is very thin and sharp at the edge with a meaty spine to support it. The bolsters are hand-engraved 304 high chromium nickel stainless steel, for lasting beauty and bright finish matching the blade. The vine work design is echoed in the sheath tooling, and connects the design to the gorgeous glassy-polished Rain Forest Jasper Gemstone handle. This jasper is hard and tough, an is bright and unique. With the nearly pistol grip shape of the handle, this is a very comfortable and inviting knife to hold. The sheath is hand-carved and tooled leather shoulder, hand-stitched with polyester sinew, and the carvings are washed with real bronze metallic dust. The entire sheath is lacquered and sealed. Please take some time to look at the pictures below, this is truly a stunning knife!
