  • Knife: This is a great version of our popular PJLT, the Pararescue LighT, a tough knife originally designed and made for United States Air Force Pararescuemen, our nation's top military rescue service. This particular knife was custom ordered by a great client who graciously donates a PJLT a year to a deserving Pararescueman. This PJLT is a collaborative knife, made by us here in our studio. The PJLT has a bead-blasted non-glare high chromium martensitic stainless steel blade for extremely high corrosion resistance and great wear characteristics. We hollow ground the blade for great longevity through repeated sharpenings, and the tanto point style creates a tough primary and secondary point geometry for cutting through the toughest textiles and materials. Rusty created a great set of very aggressive Vampire rip teeth serrations to aid in sawing and ripping chores, and the knife has a half-length top swage to reduce point profile without sacrificing spine strength. The knife has zero-care 304 austenitic high nickel, high chromium stainless steel bolsters that are dovetailed and bed a pair of black canvas reinforced micarta phenolic scales. The scales are secured with six through-tang 304 stainless steel pins for a solid fit. The tang is fully tapered for weight balance, and the rear bolster has a hawk's bill for easy extraction from the sheath and a quarter inch chamfered lanyard hole for security. The knife feels great and solid in the hand, and the balance point is right at the forefinger placement in forward grip. It's easy to see why this is one of our most popular knives across many professional and civilian fields.
  • Sheath: We created one of our excellent locking, waterproof tactical sheaths; it's made of double-thickness kydex over a 5052H32 corrosion resistant, high-strength aluminum welt frame. The sheath has all stainless steel locking components for low-care and high corrosion resistance with security. The sheath is secured with stainless steel Chicago screws and 304 stainless steel machine screws. 1.75" wide belt loops are included (not shown) in die-formed, high strength aluminum and are reversible as well as able to be relocated to the lower screw set on the sheath for inverted, upside-down, reversible, versatile wear on a belt, PALS webbing on tactical gear, or any type of strap or web. The engraved flashplate with the US Air Force Pararescue seal is made from maroon lacquered aluminum.
  • Ultimate Extender: We also included one of our ultimate sheath belt loop extenders with full accessory package. This allows a lower, more traditional placement of the locking sheath on the belt, and will accommodate thicker belts and belts up to 2.5" wide, and includes the anti-flop shock cord with nickel plated steel snap retention, the diamond pad sharpener, and the magnesium-Firesteel fire starter. Learn more about these useful accessories here.
  • This was a great project to create, and we're honored that our client supports our nation's top military combat rescue service through our services. This tactical knife and sheath is being donated via the United States Air Force Pararescue School. We are proud to have made this amazing package for our military.

Thanks again, B. M!
